This piece was produced as a conceptual collaboration between two companies. I chose to feature Santa Cruz Skateboards and Sugoi Slaps, as they have previously done simpler collaborations. Since Sugoi Slaps does anime themed stickers, I felt an anime themed deck would be appropriate. I made my own variation of their hand logo, and just tried to give the design a general manga aesthetic. I took some inspiration from Junji Ito, as he is one of my favorite manga artists, and I also gave it a Halloween inspired horror theme. My hopes are it would appeal to skateboarders that also share an interest in anime.
